Angry Customer Scenario
Elmenus interview question (Egypt) · stage: HR Interview · domain: Behavioral · difficulty: Easy · asked once, last in May 2025
What they ask
The CX Support hiring round happens at the head office and is short: a 15-minute sit-down with HR, then a typing-speed (WPM) test and an English test. The interview itself is built around one scenario:
A customer calls in furious. Their order is 40 minutes late, the restaurant is not answering, and they want a refund now. Walk me through exactly what you say and do.
You are expected to talk it through live, in the language you would use with the customer (Arabic, English, or a mix are all fine).
What they look for
- Tone first: acknowledge the frustration before explaining anything.
- Ownership: do not blame the restaurant or the courier in front of the customer.
- A concrete next step with a time attached: "I am checking with the courier now and will call you back within 10 minutes".
- Knowing when to escalate versus when to resolve on the spot (partial refund, voucher, re-order).
- Typing speed and written English matter because most support is on chat, which is why the WPM test comes right after.
Some candidates hear back with an acceptance call within the hour, so treat the whole visit as the interview, including how you talk to the receptionist.
